Smartphone for KDDI (Prototype)
This smartphone, designed for the Japanese communication carrier KDDI, overturns the conventional wisdom that the glass of smartphone screens is susceptible to cracking.
By increasing the thickness of the corners of the stainless steel frame that surrounds the glass, and lowering the level of the glass surface below the frame, the glass has become more crack-resistant. And in order to prevent the phone slipping from the user’s hands, a new paint coating was developed to cover the reverse side.
